There are two main types of coir fibre that are distinguished by their age
when harvested:
- White coir fibre, from immature husks, is smoother and finer.

Environmental Impact
Though coir fibre only accounts for around a third of coconut pulp, the remaining two thirds, including the pith, can be recycled as soil treatments and mulch that are completely bio-degradable. India and Sri Lanka account for around 90% of the 250,000 tons of coir fibre produced globally each year. Coir prices continue to play an important role in the economic prosperity of a number of countries throughout the developing world.

Seagrass is the least expensive and most versatile of natural floorcoverings.
It comes from the coastal regions of China and India and is grown in paddy fields.
Seagrass area rugs are relatively non-absorbent and hard. They are stain
resistant and dirt is easily brushed loose from them. Seagrass arearugs have
a non-porous surface that gives it a naturally smooth texture and sheen quality.
Its rigidity gives it natural durability. Seagrass rugs compliment a low dust,
